Alternative Support, Incorporated is an organization serving people with developmental disabilities. Our organization offers a wide variety of services to suit our clients’ needs. We provide residential services to assist individuals seeking home placement.
We also offer day program options for individuals with emotional,learning and developmental disabilities. We provide both non-facility based and facility-based services. We operate a base site, for clients who choose to participate in facility-based programs.
For those who want to explore the city and all it has to offer, our Supported Community Connections program offers day trips, tours, volunteering opportunities, field trips, classes and recreational activities throughout the Denver Metro area. These programs allow our clients to form new friendships, build social skills, and connect with the world around them.
We strive to help our clients build positive relationships, develop life skills, and attain their personal goals, while participating in fun and educational activities in the community and at our base site.




Alternative Support (ASI) offers day program services to individuals with emotional, learning and developmental disabilities as well as residential services to individuals seeking home placement.

Residential Services

Our residential services includes home placement, personal care alternatives, apartment living arrangement and placement under family care giver act.

Day Program Services

Alternative Support offers both, non-facility based and facility based services. Our non-facility based services, allows our consumers to remain physically active in their communities and explore volunteering opportunities. Our facility-based services offer a variety of activities for our consumers to look forward to on a daily basis.

Areas of Focus (Day Program Services)

Behavioral Support

Alternative Support offers one-on-one support to consumers with behavioral or physical aggression. One-on-one support allows for a more in-depth look at why certain behaviors arise and for solutions to decrease these behaviors and improve their overall quality of life.

Daily Living Skills

Alternative Support assists and encourages consumers to improve their daily living skills and achieve their goals at home and in the community. Alternative Support provides activities to help with such skills as: cooking, cleaning, hygiene, hanging clothes, etc. Some examples of scheduled activities include: cooking class/competition; ladies spa day-hygiene; discussions on appropriate attire for special occasions.

Volunteer Opportunities

Consumers are encouraged to volunteer within their communities. Alternative Support offers coaching services to our consumers while they volunteer at Goodwill and other facilities of their choice. Most of our clients volunteer with churches and other organizations such as food banks. Our coaching services educate the clients on how to greet customers, the importance of giving back, and time management.

Health & Fitness

Exercise is very important to keep our consumers fit and healthy. Alternative Support offers a variety of activities to ensure our consumers stay active. Scheduled activities include: visiting a local recreational center, a trip to the bowling alley, playing basketball, volleyball, soccer, walking and many more. Our consumers also participate in discussions about sportsmanship and working as a team. Indoor exercise will be offered when the weather is not permitting.


Extracurricular Activities

One of Alternative Support’s goals is to integrate our consumers within the community. Therefore, we offer to take our consumers to educational and social events, such as job fair and community events.
